Hello this is Jennifer Parkers live with the daily news in the background while Mr. Roosevelt discusses his new bill. As you know Roosevelt has made a new bill in the election of 1940 which is of now. Roosevelt promised to keep them out of war.Roosevelt he was re elected with more than half of the votes. . Roosevelt’s new bill is called the Lend Lease bill. This plan is being used to help Britain because they needed help paying for their equipment and supplies in that battle fighting against Germany. Roosevelt made a plan were supplies and equipment the country needed could now be leased or lent and that’s what we are now letting England do in order to help them through this process.The lend lease bill gave Roosevelt the powers to sell, exchange, lend, lease, or in other words dispose of supplies to other countries. If Roosevelt felt that they wouldn’t be able to pay they back or do such. Roosevelt would simply not let that country use the lend lease program. So as of now we can now subject to mortgage, lend or lease materials, to people on the other side. Roosevelt has a theory as of now, which is he thinks that the Defense of Great Britain is the greatest defense of the United States.Roosevelt thinks us as America have enough money to do so. In other words if we lend material to the country and get the arms back at the end of the battle and they are wrecked or lost when it is time they need to give the arms back to us don’t worry because the fellow country we have lent the items to will replace them or pay for them. That way we don’t loose anything. If fact we will gain. And the other country will also appreciate it and you will sometimes get paid back in kindness.
